"My 4 year old needed some cavities filled and everyone at Lemperes helped create a fun and friendly environment. They are always great with me and my son."

Dental Check-ups for Children

Regular dental check-ups are essential for monitoring your child's oral development and preventing dental problems. During these visits, we examine your child's teeth, gums, and mouth, and provide guidance on proper oral hygiene techniques.

Gentle Dental Cleanings

Our team is experienced in working with children and provide gentle, thorough cleanings to remove plaque and tartar. We make the experience positive and educational, teaching children about the importance of oral hygiene.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride helps strengthen tooth enamel and prevent cavities. We offer professional fluoride treatments to provide added protection for your child's teeth, especially during the cavity-prone years.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are thin, protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (molars) to prevent decay. They are particularly beneficial for children, as molars have deep grooves where food and bacteria can collect.

Early Orthodontic Evaluation

We monitor your child's dental development and can identify potential orthodontic issues early. Early intervention can often prevent more serious problems from developing and may reduce the need for extensive orthodontic treatment later.

Creating Positive Dental Experiences

We understand that a child's early dental experiences can shape their attitude toward dental care for life. That's why we take special care to:

  • Create a welcoming, child-friendly environment
  • Use simple, age-appropriate language to explain procedures
  • Allow children to become familiar with dental instruments
  • Praise children for their cooperation
  • Provide positive reinforcement throughout the visit
  • Offer tips for parents on maintaining good oral hygiene at home

Tips for Parents

Start Early: Begin cleaning your baby's gums with a soft cloth before teeth erupt. Once teeth appear, brush them gently with a small, soft toothbrush and a rice-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste.

Supervise Brushing: Children need help brushing their teeth until they have the dexterity to do it effectively, usually around age 7-8. Even then, supervision is important to ensure thorough cleaning.

Limit Sugary Foods and Drinks: Frequent exposure to sugar increases the risk of cavities. Limit sugary snacks and drinks, and avoid putting your child to bed with a bottle containing anything other than water.

Regular Dental Visits: Schedule regular dental check-ups every six months, or as recommended by Dr. Lemperes and Dr. Collins.
